There’s so much to be thankful for, but if we’re stressed, it’s difficult to relax and enjoy our blessings. To make the most of the upcoming holiday season, it’s important to take care of oneself. Nourish your body with fresh, colorful fruits and vegetable, take time for a warm bath, meditation, and long, peaceful breaths. You may also like to consider a calming scent. Lavender, sandalwood and chamomile have been used for centuries for their calming and stress-reducing properties. Sip and breathe in chamomile tea, place dried lavender blossoms in a sachet near your bed or spritz lavender essential oil lightly on your bedding. Also, enjoy the rich scent of sandalwood as a room scent for calming pleasure, and to disinfect areas as we are now closing in space for the colder months. It’s easy to make your own spray to mist around your house and freshen the air. Fill a spray bottle with 8 drops each of three air-freshening essential oils, then fill with water. A very pleasing blend is wild orange, sandalwood and clove. Shake the bottle, then mist around your home whenever you’d like an earthy calming atmosphere, or when the air smells a tad stale. You will thank yourself for this.
